FotoReco was developed on the Filemaker Platform.

A single database can have a maximum size of 8 terabytes, with millions of records. It is realistically only limited by hard drive space.
If you have several million photos, I'd like to talk to you. That would be amazing.

Most of the data within FotoReco is text, except for the thumbnail of your picture, which is 425 pixels square. The thumbnail is the data that would take up the space in the database. There were initial thoughts of having the thumbnails stored in folders outside of FotoReco, but it would create other challenges within the operating systems.

My own collection of photos is currently around 750,000 photos since 2001. FotoReco is aimed at small to medium size photographers.
